Temple is making its fourth-ever appearance in the WNIT. The Owls last played in the tournament in 2001, falling narrowly in a game at James Madison by a score of 59-57. In both 1982 and 1983, Temple went 2-1. The Owls placed fifth in the tournament in 1982 and seventh in 1983.

NINE STARTED; TWO REMAIN
Of the 12 Division I basketball teams in Philadelphia (men and women), nine earned postseason berths either in the NCAA Tournament, NIT, WNIT or CBI (Penn MBB). Only two now remain, as Temple is joined by the Villanova women's team in the WNIT and the two are the last area teams standing in the postseason.
