Owls look to raise awareness for breast cancer
PHILADELPHIA – The Temple softball team will host a “Pink Out” game on Friday, April 6 in a single game against Atlantic 10 rival George Washington, intended to help raise awareness for breast cancer. First pitch for the game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The "Pink Out" was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 31, in a game against La Salle, but inclement weather forced the change.
Fans are encouraged to demonstrate support by wearing pink. The team will be wearing pink belts, socks and jerseys in honor of the event.
Baked goods will be sold and donations will be accepted. All sales and fan donations will go directly toward the Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Philadelphia to support research, awareness and treatment for women in the Philadelphia region.
Entry to the game is free but donations to the cause are encouraged.
Temple is 14-11 overall and 2-0 in A-10 play.
