Kacper Rams and Vizhunov singles winners for Owls
WASHINGTON – Kacper Rams and Dmitry Vizhunov each won their singles matches, but it wasn't enough as the Temple men's tennis team fell at Georgetown, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon. The matches took place at the McDonough Outdoor Tennis Complex.
Georgetown's three doubles pairs each won to pick up the point early on.
In singles play, Dmitry Vizhunov won a 6-2, 6-4 third flight match over Shane Korber to pull the Owls within one, 2-1. Another Hoya win at the fifth flight put the host team ahead, 3-1, but Kacper Rams again cut the deficit with a hard-fought 7-6(3), 3-6, 6-0 decision over Andrew Bruhn at No. 1.
That was it for the scoring for Temple, however, and Georgetown took the final two singles bouts for the 5-2 win.
