Softball Doubleheader at Penn State Canceled Due to Rain/Hail

Owls trailed PSU 3-0 in first game before remainder and second contest called
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The softball doubleheader between Temple and Penn State at Beard Field at Nittany Lion Softball Park has been called due to inclement weather in the area.
The teams played three innings of the first contest before a hail storm moved through the region. The storm only lasted about ten minutes, and the Penn State grounds crew worked diligently for the next hour to get the field in playable condition. Upon inspection, however, it did not meet the umpires satisfaction, and with the threat of another storm coming, the crew decided to call the games.
The Owls (17-16) will head to Dayton for a pair of Atlantic 10 games on Friday and Saturday.
