Owls travel to Dayton for Two Atlantic 10 Games

Temple looks to get back on track in A-10 play
PHILADELPHIA – The Temple softball team heads to Dayton this weekend for a two-game series against the Flyers on Friday and Saturday. The Owls are looking for their first sweep over the Ohio team since 2006. First pitch Friday is slated for 3 p.m. while Saturday's game will begin at noon.
TU (17-16, 5-3 A-10) enters the weekend games on a bit of a slide, having lost six of its last seven with the lone win a 6-5 decision over A-10 favorite and defending champion Fordham last Saturday.
The Owls are led in the circle by sophomore Brooklin White (10-7, 3.28 ERA) and fifth-year Capri Catalano (3-7, 3.08). As a staff, the Owls have a 3.35 ERA and .253 average against.
At the plate, Temple hits .246 with 38 doubles, led by sophomore Sarah Prezioso (.343). Prezioso, a two-time A-10 Player of the Week, leads the team in hits (35), triples (5), RBI (21), and slugging percentage (.510). Sophomore Stephanie Pasquale (.290) bolsters the offense with her nine doubles, two homers and 18 RBI, while junior Ali Robinson (.280) sets the table with her team-high 26 runs and .391 on-base percentage.
Dayton carries a 14-22 overall record and a 2-6 Atlantic 10 mark into the weekend games.
The Flyers are led by freshman Natalie Mariano who is hitting .341. Junior Kathleen Maloof leads the Flyers in home runs (7) and runs scored (21) while hitting .314.
Freshman Kayla English boasts a 2.62 ERA with 85 strikeouts in 82.2 innings pitched to lead the Flyer pitching staff. Sophomore Alysha Isaacson is second on the team with a 4.55 ERA; she has 33 strikeouts.
