Men's Crew Places Three Boats in Grand Finals of Knecht Cup

CAMDEN, NJ- The Temple men's crew team continued its success on the water with an impressive showing at the Knecht Cup held on the Cooper River. The Owls advanced to the grand final in the Varsity 8+, Frosh/Novice 4+ and the JV 8+.
 
The Owls Varsity 8+ comprised of Donald Norris (coxswain), Jimmy Barr (stroke), Aaron Heyde (seat-7), Mike Mirabella (seat-6), Brian Reehill (seat-5), Djordje Vilimanovic (seat-4), Perry Cox (seat-3), Kevin Nally (seat-2) and Brandon Joyce (bow) advanced to tomorrow's grand final with a second place finish (5:51) in today's heat.
 
Junior Varsity 8+ comprised of Nick Palastro (coxswain), Sean McKenna (stroke), Joe Bellesheim (seat-7), John Boehm (seat-6), Mike VanAssche (seat-5), Jason Cartwright (seat-4), Petar Ivacic (seat-3), Trey Ehmer (seat-2) and Alex Klein (bow) placed third with a time of 6:09, Drexel went on to win the heat with a time of 6:03.
 
The Frosh/Novice 4+ comprised of Matthew Ciarello (coxswain), Connor Murphy (seat-4), Pat Woodruff (seat-3), Josh Kuzo (seat-2) and Vince DePentino (bow) placed first with a time of 6:49 beating top schools George Mason, Boston College and West Virginia. The Owls will compete in the grand final set to begin at 8:40am.
 
The Cherry and White Varsity 4+ comprised of Matthew Sbei (coxswain), Chris Roberts (seat-4), Steve Lindeman (seat-3), Kyle Yerger (seat-2) and Trey Ehmer (bow) placed fifth in the morning heats with a time of 7:15.
 
The Owls return to action Sunday April 15th for day two of the Knecht Cup.
