Doms and Rozite Two-Time Winners in Women's Tennis' First Round A-10 Championship Win Over Dayton, 4-0

Fourth-seeded Owls handle 13th-seeded Flyers to advance to quarterfinal
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Alicia Doms and Agnese Rozite each picked up wins in singles play and earned victories with their respective doubles partners, helping the Temple women's tennis team to a 4-0 defeat of Dayton in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Championship on Thursday morning. The event is being held April 19-22 at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va.
Play began with doubles, and Rozite and Yana Mavrina made quick work of Georgia Lammers and Erin Filbrandt at No. 3 with an 8-1 win. Doms and Jordan Batey followed suit with an 8-2 win over Sammi Hornbarger and Victoria Marchant at the second flight to secure the doubles point.
Rozite was the first singles player to pick up a point, defeating Marchant 6-0 6-1 at No. 5. Reigning A-10 Rookie of the Week Maame Ama Osei made it 3-0 with her sixth-straight singles win, a 6-1 6-0 decision over Lammers at No. 6.
Doms wrapped up the win with a straight-set victory against Stevens without dropping a game, 6-0 6-0.
Temple (13-10) moves on to face #5 Xavier, a 4-0 winner over #12 St. Bonaventure, in the quarterfinals at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning.
