Volleyball Undefeated in the Spring Season; Owls Will Host Home Tournament on Saturday, April 21

4.2.12 | Women's Volleyball

PHILADELPHIA - After four matches so far this spring, Temple volleyball remains undefeated heading into its final tournament on April 21. The Owls will host West Point and Delaware State, among others, as part of an Alumni Weekend Tournament in McGonigle Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on that Saturday.

Two weeks ago Temple took four of five sets in a scrimmage at La Salle. This past weekend, the Owls participated in a spring tournament at Penn where they won by a score of 2-0 against the Quakers as well as Bucknell and La Salle.

"The match against Penn was especially good because we showed mental focus, something we were lacking in the past," said head coach Bakeer Ganes. "We really played our game rather than adjusting to the opponents' game. It felt like we took the next step as a team and as a program this weekend, which was very rewarding for all of us."

As part of the Alumni Weekend Tournament on April 21, there will be a noon luncheon for all volleyball alums as well as a social night after the day's matches.
