PHILADELPHIA – Keeping its hopes alive for a berth in next weekend's Atlantic 10 Tournament, the Temple lacrosse team rolled to a 19-11 win against Saint Joseph's (5-10, 1-5) at Geasey Field on Friday afternoon. The Owls (9-7, 3-3) celebrated Friends of Jaclyn Week with honored guest and adopted little sister Lily Adkins.

Jaymie Tabor led all players with four goals, while Karly Cohen and Stephanie Markunas also notched hat tricks for Temple with three goals apiece. Kelsey Zenuk, making her first appearance since an injury suffered early in the season, recorded a goal and three assists.

The Hawks struck first in the game, but it wasn't long before the Owls took control. Markunas had scored twice by the midway point of the first half as Temple took a 4-2 lead, also getting goals from Jackie Mercer and Stephany Parcell.

Cohen added to Temple's lead with an assist from Charlotte Swavola at the 12:45 mark. Saint Joseph's then scored two of the next three, but would then go scoreless for the final five minutes of the first half and opening 12 minutes of the second half.

In that span, Temple used an 8-0 run to take a commanding, 14-4 lead in the game. By halftime the Owls led 8-4 thanks to a free position score by Missy Schweitzer in the final 20 seconds.

Zenuk opening the second-half scoring with an unassisted goal, and she was one of five different players to score Temple's first five goals of the half. Swavola would eventually score twice before the run was over.

The Hawks never came within fewer than seven goals the rest of the way, but did score four straight in the final seven minutes to bring an 11-goal deficit to seven.

Temple will honor eight seniors prior to its final home game, which is also its final regular season game, on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. vs. #18 Massachusetts. Because of tiebreaker situations, the Owls would need a win over the Minutewomen to earn a berth in the A-10 Tournament.
