Frosh/Novice 4+ Takes Gold at SIRA Regatta

Oak Ridge, TN- The Temple men's crew team capped off a successful weekend at the SIRA Regatta with a first place finish in the Frosh/Novice 4+.
The Frosh/Novice 4+ comprised of Matthew Ciarela (coxswain), Connor Murphy (seat-4), Pat Woodruff (seat-3), Josh Kuzo (seat-2) and Frank Dipentino (bow) took gold with a time of 6:46 beating out Virginia, Purdue and Marietta.
The Cherry and White Junior Varsity 8+ comprised of Matthew Sbei (coxswain), Sean McKenna (stroke), Joe Bellesheim (seat-7), John Boehm (seat-6), Mike VanAssche (seat-5), Trey Ehmer (seat-4), Petar Ivacic (seat-3), Chris Roberts (seat-2) and Alex Klein (bow), placed third with a time of 6:04. Virginia won the race with a time of 5:58
The Owls Varsity 8+ comprised of Donald Norris (coxswain), Jimmy Barr (Stroke), Aaron Heyde (seat-7), Michael Mirabella (seat-6), Brian Reehill (seat-5), Djordje Vilimanovic (seat-4), Perry Cox (seat-3), Kevin Nally (seat-2) and Brandon Joyce (bow), placed fifth with a time of 5:52. George Washington won the race with Virginia placing second and Grand Valley coming in third place.
The Owls return to action April 28th for the Bergen Cup held on the Schuylkill River.
