PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. - In the rematch of last week's game at Skip Wilson Field, Villanova threw up four runs on one hit in the first inning and would go on to attack Temple with nine more runs, en route to a 13-1 defeat of the Owls at Villanova Ballpark on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls tallied their lone run in the third inning when junior David Hall crossed the plate, making it a 4-1 ballgame. The Wildcats' pitching staff, headed by starter Josh Harris on Tuesday, was difficult to solve, as the staff allowed just one hit over nine innings. Senior Jabair Khan found a way to beat Harris in the seventh inning when he took a pitch off him into center field for Temple's first and only base knock of the game.

The bulk of Villanova's damage came in the sixth inning when it worked redshirt junior Steve Visnic, Ryan Davis and Dan Wasson for six runs in the inning.

Senior Brant Norlander started the game for the Owls and went 3.0 innings of work, in which he surrendered seven runs on five hits.

Juniors Jordan Queja, Foster Dunigan and David Hall worked their way on the basepaths by drawing walks, while redshirt senior Steve Nikorak reached courtesy of a fielding error.

Temple (16-28, 4-11) is down to its final 10 games of the season. On Friday at 3:00 p.m. when the Owls return to Skip Wilson Field to open a three-game Atlantic 10 weekend series against the Dayton Flyers, they'll be looking to keep their narrow postseason hopes alive.
