Myers and Parisi Named To A-10 Men's T&F Academic All-Conference Team

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Redshirt senior Lou Parisi and junior Damian Myers were among 12 members selected to the Atlantic 10 Conference Academic All-Conference team for the Outdoor Track & Field season. The team was selected through voting conducted by the league's Sports Information Directors and was announced on Thursday.
 
As a telecommunications and mass media major, Myers posted an impressive 3.54 grade point average. In addition to his performance in the classroom, Myers was an essential piece in the Owls' success on the track this past outdoor season. At the A-10 Championships, he paced Temple to the conference title in the 4x400 meter relay in a time of 3:12.34. With that being the high point of the season, the Windsor, Pa. native also helped the Owls 4x400 squad earn an IC4A qualifying time of 3:17.17 and second place finish at Maryland Invite. At the same meet, Myers placed second overall in the 200 meter dash (21.87) before leading the Owls to another IC4A qualifying time of 3:17.16 in the 4x400 relay event at the Penn Relays.
 
Parisi, a secondary education and Social Studies major, held a grade point average of 3.37 through his time at Temple. During his redshirt senior season, he ran the 800 meter run at A-10 Championships- finished in a personal-best time of 1:50.96 to earn third place. A week later at the IC4A Championships, the Hoptacong, N.J. native placed 10th in the same even with a time of 1:51.13. Early this past season at a meet that featured competition from some of the nation's top running programs, Parisi ran the 800 meter run in a time of 1:52.54 at Florida Relays. At the same meet, he helped team up to form the 1600 meter sprint relay squad post an IC4A qualifying time.
 
Joining Parisi and Myers, the Men's Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference team consisted of Charlotte's Jason Roberts, Macey Ruble and Elias Coye Still, Duquesne's Jim Spisak, Massachusetts' Daniel Wu, Rhode Island's William Janes, Richmond's Devin Cassels and Xavier's Keith Albrektson.
