AMBLER -
Winners of two of the last three games, Temple Women's Soccer opens its first two-game homestand of the season, as it welcomes Drexel and Hartford to the friendly confines of the Ambler Sports Complex this weekend. The city-rival Dragons travel outside the city limits to take on the Owls Friday at 4:00 p.m., while the Hawks will make their way down from West Hartford, Conn. to Ambler on Sunday for a 2:00 p.m. match. Both games will have live stats provided by clicking the link above.

Standing 2-4-1 on the year and already 2-0-0 at home this season, the Owls are not only in search of extending that unbeaten streak, but are also looking to tie the program record for most consecutive shutouts at home. Having five straight dating back to Oct. 7, 2011, which is the most in a row the program has notched since its move to Ambler in 2004, the Owls are now just one clean sheet away from their sixth straight, which would match the mark set by the program's inaugural squad in 1991, who reeled off shutouts in each of its first six home matches.

Coming off a 1-1 weekend, in which it defeated Iona and fell on the road to Ivy League power Princeton, senior Morgyn Seigfried led the Owls to last Friday's victory over the Gaels when she scored in the 19th minute. On the goal, freshman Paula Jurewicz tallied her first point as an Owl with the assist. Also making an impression was another rookie in freshman goalkeeper Shauni Kerkhoff, who made her first collegiate start and notched the first shutout victory of her career. While there is no predetermined decision on who will start games this weekend, Kerkhoff has made the last two starts in net. In her three appearances, she has given up just one goal and has made 13 saves. With four points on the year, senior captain Kate Yurkovic is Temple's leading scorer, having two goals on the year. Her first tally of the year came in the Owls' 1-1 draw at Stony Brook and her second score served as the game-winner against NJIT. When Yurkovic has scored a goal in her TU career, the Owls are 5-1-1.

ABOUT THE DREXEL DRAGONS...
Since dropping its season-opener at Longwood, the Dragons have been blowing their fire at their opponents, as they have won their last five matches. Leading the way for Drexel is freshman Gabby Dixon, who has accumulated six points in seven games, having two goals and two assists. The Dragons are getting great production from all over the field, as four different players have at least two goals. Sophomore goalie Eve Badana has been stellar in front of the net this year, having 18 saves and posing a 0.86 goals against average. Freshman goalkeeper Kelsie Fye has also seen some time this year, in which she has one save and is yet to allow a goal through 37 minutes of play.

ALL-TIME SERIES...
Temple leads the head-to-head matchup against Drexel with a record of 7-4-1. Last year at Vidas Field, the Dragons ran away with a 4-1 victory. The Dragons put themselves in command early in the contest by putting up three goals in the opening half. Senior Niki Conn looked to lead a second half charge by the Owls when she scored her first goal of the season in the 57th minute, but Temple was unable to cash in on any further chances, despite outshooting Drexel in the second half.

ABOUT THE HARTFORD HAWKS...
The Hawks visit Ambler after Friday evening's home match against Holy Cross. Prior to taking on the Crusaders, Hartford's leading goal scorers were seniors Amelia Pereira and Caroline Dixon, who both had three goals on the year. Pereira stood as the team's points leader coming into the weekend with seven on the year. The Hawks have six different players who have found the back of the net this season. Junior goalkeeper Erin Quinlan has been solid in the net this year, as she came into the weekend having a total of 17 saves while carrying a 1.24 goals against average.

ALL-TIME SERIES...
Temple and Hartford are deadlocked with a win apiece in the all-time head-to-head matchup. In last season's affair at Hartofrd, the Hawks scored two goals a minute and 50 seconds apart inside the 7th and 9th minute, getting themselves off to a quick start.  Five different scorers would propel the Hawks to a 5-1 win. Temple won the only other meeting back in 2010 at the Ambler Sports Complex, by a count of 4-3.

UP NEXT...
Temple will have one last full weekend of non-conference matches before diving into the Atlantic 10 Conference slate, as the Owls will head to New York to take on Siena on Friday and Marist on Sunday. Both games are scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. opening kick.
