The Owls (1-3-1) are looking to rebound from back-to-back losses, which they endured from Cal Poly and Cal State Northridge last weekend. Before playing the two Big West squads, Temple defeated the Manhattan Jaspers last Tuesday in their home opener by a count of 3-2. In those three games, freshman midfielder Jared Martinelli began proving his anticipated potential, as he racked up five points by having a goal and three assists. His offensive production allowed him to earn this past week's Atlantic 10 and Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week honors.
Having three goals last week, redshirt sophomore Chas Wilson is the leading scorer with the Owls with his six points. Wilson tallied a pair of goals 11 minutes apart the last time Temple played at the Ambler Sports Complex. So far this season, the Owls have seen a split of the playing time with goalkeepers Bobby Rosato and Dan Scheck. Rosato, the team's junior netminder has made the last two starts and had played every minute for the Owls since entering in the middle of the second half against Manhattan. Scheck, who started the first two games of the season proved to be impressive, as he pitched a shutout in goal against James Madison and has allowed just two goals and holds a goals against average of 0.71.
Temple assistant coach Brian Clarhaut is a graduate from Saint Peter's College. Playing for the Peacocks from 2004-06, he was a member of the All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Academic team.
SAINT PETER'S NOTES...
When the Peacocks (2-5-0) take on the Owls, they will be closing out a five-game road trip, in which they are 0-4 on so far. In their last time out, the Peacocks kept pace with NJIT for 103 minutes until the Highlanders tallied the sudden death game-winning goal. Saint Peter's last victory came just before it began its road swing, as it defeated Lehigh, 3-2.

Noah Sadoui has provided a large chunk of the offense for the Peacocks, as he already has six goals this season. Jacob Robertson and Betim Bajrami are the only others to put the ball in the back of the net for the Peacocks. Carlos Suarez has started all seven games in net for Saint Peter's, where he has turned away 31 shots.

HOWARD NOTES…
Playing only one game this weekend, the Bison (0-9-0) come to Ambler looking for their first win of 2012. Phillip Cocker leads Howard with two goals on the year, which were both tallied in the team's match at Liberty on Sept. 12.

ALL-TIME SERIES...
While the Temple and Saint Peter's are meeting for the first time in their history, the Owls hold the edge in the head-to-head series with Howard, having a record of 3-1-0. In last year's meeting down in the nation's capital,  Temple's defensive unit held the Howard Bison to two shots for the game, including a shotless second half, which secured the 1-0 lead senior Tyler Witmer nabbed for the Owls in the 38th minute in the team's final non-conference match of the season.
