Women's Gymnastics Opens 2013 Season At GW's Lindsay Ferris Invite

PHILADELPHIA – It's back to the floor mat and apparatuses for the Temple Women's Gymnastics team. On Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m., the Owls will open the 2013 season at George Washington University, where the annual Lindsay Ferris Invitational will be held. Live scoring and a live video stream will be provided by clicking the links above.
Under the direction of seven-year head coach Aaron Murphy, the Owls begin the new slate following a 14-18 2012 campaign, which included a third place finish at the ECAC Championships and the program's highest meet score.
Returning for the new season, the Owls' will look to carry over that success, but will have to do so without the leadership of departing performers Katie Canning, who left with Temple's all-time record for an all-around score, and Corrine Williams and Kaity Watson. With big shoes to fill, captain Heather Zaniewski along with seniors Jean Alban, Ebone Grant, Natalie Kahler and Margaret Walch will look to use their experience to help guide the 2013 squad to greater heights.
Joining the cast of returnees is Tara Kilkenny, Taylor Moyer, Regan Oliveri, Hannah Popper, Danielle Vahala and Mary Kate Walch.
They will look to add to the depth of Sylvie Borschel, Arrielle Burris, Lauren Capone, Brittanie DeMeno, Brianna Ferdinandi, Alexandra Forcucci, Jasmine Johnson, Taylor Rakus, Natali Ruzich, Stephanie Verry, Lindsay Yeager.
