Men's Golf to Host Temple Invitational

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple Golf team will host the Temple Invitational this weekend at the 6,670-yard par 70 North Course at Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. The two-day event, which will take place from Saturday October 12th to Sunday October 13th, will include 17 teams from various conferences.

Philmont's North Course has hosted many prestigious events including the Nike Tour (now the Web.com Tour)in the mid-90s and local qualifiers for the US Open and US Amateur. It is a true classic with tree lined fairways and firm, fast greens.

"Our hope is to make the Temple Invitational into a showcase event for college golf and to make these young men feel like they are playing in a PGA Tour event," said Temple head golf coach Brian Quinn. "We are incredibly grateful to be able to host the event at one of the region's best golf courses, Philmont Country Club. I would also like to thank Philmont's head golf professional Mickey Sokalski and his staff for all their help as well as the members who have graciously made the course available to us for the weekend."

Besides Temple, schools competing in the Invitational include local rivals, La Salle, Penn and Saint Joseph's. Other teams that will be making an appearance include Binghamton, Brown, Cincinnati, Cornell, Dartmouth, Fordham, Hartford, Harvard, Princeton, Rhode Island, Richmond, Seton Hall and St. John's.
