Owls' Men's Tennis Wins All Six Matches Against Delaware in Penn Invitational

PHILADELPHIA – Nicolas Paulus and Sam Rundle continued their undefeated weekend of singles play at the Penn Invitational, and the rest of the team joined in as the Temple men's tennis team won every match in the flighted, non-scoring tournament. The match was played at TU Pavilion.
Santiago Canete had little trouble getting past Adam Lawton at the first flight, defeating the Blue Hen, 6-3, 6-0. Hernan Vasconez followed that with a tought three-set victory, winning 6-5(8), 4-6, 10-8, over Troy Beneck at No. 2.
Paulus added his third win of the weekend with a 6-2, 6-4 decision over Mike Furr at number three before Hicham Belkssir defeated Zack Niklaus, 6-3, 6-4, at the fourth flight. Rundle also continued his hot streak, winning for the third time in two days, defeating Evan Andrews, 6-2, 6-5(1) at No. 5.
Vineet Naran rounded out the TU wins with a three-set victory against Tyler Flematti at the sixth flight, 6-4, 3-6, 10-5.
The Owls will face former Atlantic 10 foe Duquesne on Sunday to finish out the event.
