Complete 2014 Schedule

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Temple baseball is ready to start its first season as a member of the American Athletic Conference as Head Coach Ryan Wheeler has officially released the schedule of opponents the Owls will face in the 2014 season.

Temple enters 2014 looking to improve on last season's 18-28 (7-16, A-10) finish. The Owls currently have 54 games scheduled in 2014. Live stats will be provided on owlsports.com for all home games and most away games. Times are still yet to be determined for several road games. Continue to check owlsports.com for updates on the schedule, as all dates and times are subject to change.

"I am really excited about our schedule for the spring," said Wheeler.  "I think we have some early season games that will allow us to compete without being over matched at that time of year.  It will allow us a chance to get some guys on the field to see where we are at before we head into American Athletic Conference play.  Our conference schedule is going to be tough.  Opening up at Memphis and Central Florida will provide us with some tough tests early.  I know the players are looking forward to the challenge of the new conference, and I know we are all anxious to play some of the best competition in the country."

The Owls' inaugural season in the American Athletic Conference will have them playing two teams that made the NCAA Tournament last season, Connecticut and Louisville.  Every conference game, except one, will be played at Campbell's Field, home of the Camden Riversharks.

Temple will open its season on Feb. 14 when its travels to Raleigh, N.C. to open a three-game set with North Carolina A&T to ultimately begin an 11-game road swing to start the season. Before wrapping up the trip, the Owls will make their way to Wilson, N.C. to play Rider in a three game series, followed by a three-game series at VCU and two-game series at Radford.

Wheeler brings the Owls back to Ambler for the first time in 2014 on March 7 to commence the home portion of the schedule with a three-game home stand at Skip Wilson Field. Central Connecticut State will open Temple's 2014 home slate before the Owls host Niagara and Iona.

The Owls will then play one game each at Rider and Lafayette on March 11 and 12 before beginning another three-game home stand on March 14-16.  Former A-10 and city rival La Salle, Hartford and Saint Peters will travel to Ambler to play a game at Skip Wilson Field.  After that, the Owls will go back on the road with a game at Lehigh on March 18 and George Mason the following day.

The start of conference play will have the Owls on the road with weekend series against Memphis (March 21-23) and Central Florida (March 28-30).  In between those two series will be a Liberty Bell Classic game against Delaware on March 25.  The second Liberty Bell Classic game for the Owls will be on April 1, against either La Salle or Villanova.

The Owls will host Cincinnati on April 4-6 for the Owls first ever games at Campbell Field.  They will host South Florida the following week on April 11-13.  In between the two series will be a non-conference game at Monmouth on April 8.

Temple will host Delaware on April 15.  Connecticut will then host the Owls on April 17-19.  The Owls will play Delaware once again on April 22, this time on the road.  Monmouth will come to Ambler for a three-game series on April 25-27.  The last nonconference game will be at city rival Villanova on April 29.

The 2014 regular season will conclude with a weekend series at Rutgers (May 2-4) and three game series at home against Louisville (May 9-11) and Houston (May 15-17).

The American Athletic Conference Tournament will be held on May 21-25.
