Dayan Opts to Leave Temple Owls
11.29.13 | Women's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA – Temple guard May Dayan (Ashdod, Israel) has decided to leave Temple University and the women's basketball team.
"After a year-and-a-half at Temple University and due to personal issues, I have to return to Israel," the sophomore said. "I would like to thank all the people that helped me along the way, my coaches, my academic advisor, compliance, and especially my teammates. I would also like to thank Temple University for giving me this great opportunity. Temple was my home for the last year-and-a-half and will always have a special place in my heart. I wish the Owls good luck and know they will have a great season."
The 5-7 guard, who has not played this season, played in 30 games with six starts and chipped in 1.7 points as a true freshman in 2012-13. The business management major was named to the 2013 Athletic Director's Honor Roll for having a GPA above 3.0.
"We are saddened to see May return home," said head coach Tonya Cardoza. "However, we understand that family comes first. We thank May for her contributions to our program, and we wish her the best in her future endeavors."
