Howard visits on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. in McGonigle Hall.
In Philadelphia Big 5 action, TU entertains Villanova on Sunday, Dec. 22 at 2 p.m. at McGonigle Hall. ?Santa Claus will be in attendance and will be available for photos starting at 1 p.m.
SCOUTING TEMPLE
The Owls, under sixth-year head coach Tonya Cardoza, stand 5-3 on the season after an 82-76 loss at No. 23 Syracuse on Monday night.
After eight games, four Owl starters are averaging double-figure scoring. Freshman Feyonda Fitzgerald (Norfolk, Va.) is the Owls' leading scorer with 16.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Senior Natasha Thames (Port Huron, Mich.) follows with 12.3 ppg and 7.6 rpg. Junior Tyonna Williams (Fort Washington, Md.) adds 10.9 points and 5.0 apg. Senior Shi-Heria Shipp (Salisbury, N.C.) also adds 10.3 ppg and a a team-best 7.9 rpg.

The Bison, under the guidance of first-year head coach Tennille Adams, stand 3-6 on the season after a 45-40 win at New Hampshire on Dec. 4. Howard had a 15-day break before visiting Temple.
R-freshman guard Te'Shya Heslip is the top scorer with 14.2 ppg and 4.8 rpg. Sophomore center Victoria Gonzalez follows with 9.4 ppg.
SERIES VS. BISON
Temple and Howard have met just three times on the hardwood in a series that began in 1981. The Owls lead in series action, 2-1.
Last January— the teams' first meeting in 30 seasons— in Washington, D.C., Temple dropped a 61-58 decision for the first loss in series play. The Owls saw their 17-point lead erased as Howard's Saadia Doyle scored 32 points in the win. Natasha Thames led TU with 19 points.
The Owls claimed two wins in the early 1980s. In the first game on Dec. 5, 1981, TU claimed a 78-50 win in the championship game of its own Lady Owls' Classic.
On Dec. 3, 1983, the Owls won the George Washington Invitational with a 96-68 win over Howard.
