Wheeler Addresses Importance Of Senior Leadership In Part 2 Of His 2013 Outlook

PHILADELPHIA— In Part 2 of four segments, Temple head baseball coach Ryan Wheeler touches on the loss of Steve Nikorak and who will have to step up. During this sit-down, Wheeler announces that he did not select captains for this season, but is relying on his seniors to lead the pack.

Also during his conversation with Owlsports.com, he talks about how much sophomore Nick Lustrino was an important piece to the team last season and how he sees the second-year short stop elevating his game. Wheeler finally mentions how he sees his outfield shaping up.

The Owls officially get the new season underway next Friday (Feb. 15) when they head to Cary, N.C., where they will play four games in three days at the USA Baseball Complex. Starting with a double-header on Opening Day, the Owls will face Wright State and Delaware when they begin the season.
