Eric Peterson Tabbed Big 5 Pitcher Of The Week

PHILADELPHIA – Sophomore right-handed pitcher Eric Peterson has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Pitcher of the Week for the weekend ending Feb. 24. Peterson picks up the award after notching Temple's first win of the season, a 7-3 upset over the No. 24 Virginia Tech Hokies in Blacksburg, Va.
In the sixth inning with two outs and the game tied at two, Peterson was called out of the bullpen. In his first appearance of the season, he was lights out, as he went on to pitch the final 3.1 innings.
The Bear, Del. native limited the Hokies to just one run on three hits, while striking out two of the 12 batters he faced.
While doing his job on the mound, his teammates put up five runs in the final two innings to pick up their first win of the season and beat a ranked opponent only for the third time since 1996 and for the first time since 2008.
