Eric Peterson Elected Big 5 Co-Pitcher Of The Week

4.2.13 | Baseball

PHILADELPHIA—Sophomore Eric Peterson has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Co-Pitcher of the Week for his complete game victory on Saturday (March 30) at George Washington.

Peterson, who earns the honor for the second time this season and shares this week's with Saint Joseph's Jordan Carter, took the ball in the opening game of Saturday's doubleheader against George Washington and went the distance, as he tossed the first complete game of his collegiate career, helping Temple to a 3-1 victory over the Colonials.

The right-hander from Bear, Del. improved to 3-0 on the year, by fanning away a career-high nine batters over his nine innings of work.

The only damage to Peterson occurred within the first five innings, through which he gave up GW's only run on six hits and a walk. From that point, Peterson was perfect, as he retired the final 14 batters of the game and set GW down in order in each of the last four innings.
