Men's Crew Fares Well in Philadelphia City Championship

Highlights
Philadelphia, Pa-Temple Men's crew team took home two silver and one gold medal at the Bergen/Kelly cup regatta, Saturday afternoon on the Schuylkill River. The Owls Varsity 8+ placed 2nd as well as the Varsity 8+ B boat. The Lightweight 4+ boat dominated the final race and finished in first place to round out the successful day.
Temple's Varsity 8+ A boat, comprised of Nicholas Palastro (coxswain), Mike Mirabella (seat-8), Charles Anderson (seat-7), Fergal Barry (seat-6), Gary Wielgus (seat-5), Brian Reifsnyder (seat-4), Joshua Kuzo (seat-3), Tom Robbins (seat-2) and Kevin Nally (bow), finished the final race in 2nd place over Villanova, Saint Joseph's and LaSalle University.
The Owls Varsity 8+ B boat also finished in 2nd place in the Second Varsity 8+ finals. The boat was comprised of Matthew Sbei (seat-8), Connor Murphy (seat-7), Richard Ehmer (seat-7), Bryan Berry (seat-6), Dan Sipzner(seat-5), Michael Pellegrini (seat-4), Evan Hammond (seat-3), Zephyr Dippel (seat-2) and Pat Woodruff(bow). The Drexel Dragons finished 1st in the race.
Gold went to the Lightweight 4+ boat in a competitive race against Drexel and Villanova University. The Temple boat was comprised of Matthew Ciarallo (coxswain), Hunter Devine (seat-4), Ryan Dartnell (seat-3), Chris Roberts(seat-2), Vincent DiPentino(bow).
Temple Men's rowing will be back on the Schuylkill River on May 10th and 11th for the 75th annual Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta.
