Men's Crew Advances Three Boats at Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's crew team had a strong day on the water, advancing three boats to Saturday's competition at the 2013 Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta. The Owls' Varsity 8 and Lightweight 4 all advanced to the semifinals while the Junior Varsity 8 qualified for the finals.
Temple's Varsity 8 boat, comprised of Matthew Sbei (coxswain), Alex McCaig (seat-8), Charles Anderson (seat-7), Mike Mirabella (seat-6), Gary Wielgus (seat-5), Fergal Barry (seat-4), Joshua Kuzo (seat-3), Tom Robbins (seat-2) and Kevin Nally (bow), placed second in it morning heat to Grand Valley State before winning its repechage race in the afternoon to qualify for the semifinals.
The Owls Junior Varsity 8 boat, comprised of Nicholas Palastro (seat-8), Connor Murphy (seat-7), Richard Ehmer (seat-7), Bryan Berry (seat-6), Dan Sipzner(seat-5), Zephyr Dippel (seat-4), Evan Hammond (seat-3), Michael Pellegrini (seat-2) and Pat Woodruff (bow), also finished in second in its heat, which was good enough to qualify for the final.
The Lightweight 4, comprised of Matthew Ciarallo (coxswain), Hunter Devine (seat-4), Ryan Dartnell (seat-3), Chris Roberts (seat-2), Vincent DiPentino (bow), won its heat to advance to the finals.
