Men's Crew Places Two Boats in Grand Final of Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's crew team placed two of its three boats in the grand final of the 2013 Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta Saturday.
The Owls Junior Varsity 8 boat, comprised of Nicholas Palastro (seat-8), Connor Murphy (seat-7), Richard Ehmer (seat-7), Bryan Berry (seat-6), Dan Sipzner(seat-5), Zephyr Dippel (seat-4), Evan Hammond (seat-3), Michael Pellegrini (seat-2) and Pat Woodruff (bow), finished fifth in its final, finishing four seconds behind fourth-place Bucknell and four seconds ahead of Grand Valley. Michigan won the event.
The Lightweight 4, comprised of Matthew Ciarallo (coxswain), Hunter Devine (seat-4), Ryan Dartnell (seat-3), Chris Roberts (seat-2), Vincent DiPentino (bow), placed second in its semifinal race to qualify for the final. The Owls would finish sixth in the grand final.
Temple's Varsity 8 boat, comprised of Matthew Sbei (coxswain), Alex McCaig (seat-8), Charles Anderson (seat-7), Mike Mirabella (seat-6), Gary Wielgus (seat-5), Fergal Barry (seat-4), Joshua Kuzo (seat-3), Tom Robbins (seat-2) and Kevin Nally (bow), placed third in its semifinal, failing to qualify for the grand final. The Owls competed in the second final, placing fourth in the race.
