PHILADELPHIA - Temple's head fencing coach Nikki Franke has released information and entry forms for the 34th Annual Temple Fencing Open. The two-day tournament, considered to be the largest of its kind in the nation, will be held October 26-27 in McGonigle Hall on the main Tempe campus. The forms are available online by clicking the links above or by going to "Additional Links" on the top right-hand corner of the Temple Fencing homepage.
The Temple Open is an individual tournament for collegiate fencers that tends to draw an estimated 600 athletes from over 30 schools. In addition, it is used as the starting point to the season for many schools on the East Coast.
Tiki Kastor, now a junior on the team, won the gold medal in sabre at the 2012 Temple Open. Senior Epiphany Georges earned silver in foil and senior Kimberly Howell nabbed a bronze in epee.
