Temple Women's Gymnastics Drops Meet to Alaska Anchorage by Less Than One Point

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA –
Temple women's gymnastics was edged out by less than one point in a dual meet at University of Alaska Anchorage on Friday night.  Alaska Anchorage finished with 188 points, while Temple had 187.125.

Temple garnered more points in three of the four events, but Alaska Anchorage had 1.775 more points (47.625-45.850) on the floor event and was the ultimate difference in the meet.

Reagan Oliveri had the top score on floor for the Owls, scoring a 9.525.  Brianna Ferdinandi was second with 9.450.

The Owls scored a 47.525 on vault, 0.025 more than UAA.  Mikaela Postlethwait earned 9.575, and Lauren Capone (9.550) and Briana Odom (9.50) finished second and third in the event for Temple.

On bars, Temple once again edged out UAA by 0.025 with a team score of 46.475.  Victoria Reggiani (9.550), Jean Alban (9.325), and Heather Zaniewski (9.30) lead the way in the event.

Temple's second best event score came on the beam, earning 47.275.  Alban earned a score of 9.650, the best score by any Temple gymnast in the meet.  Odom had the second best score of the meet with 9.625, and Sylvie Borschel also earned a solid score of 9.575.

Temple will face Alaska Anchorage again on Sunday.  The meet is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m., which is a 2:00 p.m. start in Anchorage.
