Fitzgerald Named American Freshman of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Temple freshman Feyonda Fitzgerald (Norfolk, Va.) was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week on Monday.
Additionally, Fitzgerald was named to the Philadelphia Big 5 Honor Roll.
In two games on the week, Fitzgerald averaged 17.0 points per game. She also had 10 assists and 10 rebounds while shooting a perfect 100 percent from the line (5-5).
Against Penn, Fitzgerald had nine points and a career-high six assists while directing the offense.
Against Rutgers, Fitzgerald led the Owls with a game-high 25points. She set career highs for field goal shooting with nine makes on 21 attempts. She was also a perfect 5-for-5 from the line. She grabbed seven rebounds.
A starter in all 19 games, Fitzgerald is the Owls' leading scorer with 13.5 ppg. She dishes out 3.9 apg. Fitzgerald has scored in double figures in 12 games.
The American Athletic Conference honor is Fitzgerald's fourth this season. A candidate for the conference's Freshman of the Year award, she also earned Freshman of the Week accolades on Nov. 18, Dec. 2, and Dec.23.
