Women's Basketball Hosts UCF on Saturday

Temple continues American Athletic Conference play at home with UCF on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. at McGonigle Hall.
The American Digital Network will televise the game live online with John Rooke calling the action and Tara Petrolino providing color analysis.
In honor of the Eagles' Saturday night NFL playoff game, all fans who wear Eagles' gear to the Temple game may purchase tickets for just $5.
The Owls then embark on a two-game road trip. Their first stop is USF on Tuesday, Jan. 7 for a 7 p.m. game at the Sun Dome. The American Digital Network will televise the game live online with Bernie Guenther calling the action and Debbie Antonelli providing color analysis.

The Owls, under sixth-year head coach Tonya Cardoza, stand 7-5 overall and 11 in American Athletic Conference play after a 77-68 loss to No. 7 Louisville in the league home opener on Jan. 1.
After 12 games, freshman Feyonda Fitzgerald (Norfolk, Va.) is the Owls' leading scorer with 14.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Senior Natasha Thames (Port Huron, Mich.) follows with 13.5 ppg and a team-best 7.8 rpg. Sophomore Erica Covile (Detroit, Mich.) adds 10.6 and 6.0 rpg. Senior Shi-Heria Shipp (Salisbury, N.C.) rounds out the double figures with 10.1 ppg and 7.3 rpg. Junior Tyonna Williams (Fort Washington, Md.) also adds 9.2 points and a Conference-best .903 shooting from the free throw line.

The Knights, under the guidance of seventh-year head coach Joi Williams, stand 8-5 overall and 1-1 in American play after a 77-49 loss to No. 1 Connecticut on Jan. 1. UCF?opened conference play with a 67-59 victory at Houston on Dec. 28, giving Williams the 150th win of her coaching career.
Sophomore guard Briahanna Jackson leads three players in double-digit scoring with 18.4 ppg and 4.8 rpg. Freshman guard Zykira Lewis follows with 11.5 ppg and 2.9 rpg, while senior forward Sara Djassi added 10.6 ppg and 6.1 rpg.
SERIES VS. KNIGHTS
Saturday's game is just the second meeting between Temple and UCF in women's basketball and the first since 1995.
In the teams' only prior meeting on Dec. 28, 1995, UCF captured an 84-66 home win.
This is the teams' first meeting in American Athletic Conference play.
