Sandra Sydlik Earns American Athletic Conference Honor Roll Nod

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Temple volleyball setter Sandra Sydlik was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for her play October 12-19. This is the second weekly honor for the junior this season.
Sydlik led the Owls to a 2-0 week, with a pair of American Athletic Conference victories on the road. On Friday against Houston, she recorded 41 assists, 13 digs, a career-best eight kills, and a team-high hitting percentage of .615. On Sunday, Sydlik matched her 41 assists, while also recording four kills on only four swings for a perfect hitting percentage. For the week, she averaged 11.7 assists/set, 2.43 digs/set, 1.71 kills/set, and most impressively, her precision setting allowed Temple to hit a combined .351 in two matches, including a conference-record .471 against Tulane.Â
The Owls return home to McGonigle Hall for another set of American matches this weekend. Temple will host SMU on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and then will play Tulsa on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
