Overton Named to American Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Temple volleyball player Kirsten Overton was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for her play October 20-27. This week's honor marks the second of the season for the junior middle.
Overton led the Owls to their third and fourth straight wins, as Temple topped a pair of American Athletic Conference opponents. On Friday, she tied a career-high with nine blocks, and also recorded 11 kills with just one error to hit .526 in Temple's 3-2 win against SMU. On Sunday, Overton also had a career-day, matching her best effort with 15 kills, while hitting .458 and tallying four blocks as the Owls defeated Tulsa, 3-1. For the week, the middle hit .488 with 26 kills and 13 total blocks.Â
The Owls are back on the road next weekend, playing American matches on Friday against Memphis (8:00 p.m.) and Sunday against Cincinnati (1:00 p.m.).
