Golf Ties for 10th at Wolfpack Intercollegiate

RALEIGH, NC - Junior Brandon Matthews shot a two-over 73 for the day and a one-under par 212 for the two-day, three-round Wolfpack Intercollegiate to lead Temple to a tie for for 10th overall at the 18-team two-day tournament held at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course at North Carolina State.

Matthews tied for sixth overall, his third straight Top 7 seven on the season. North Carolina State's David Cooke and East Tennessee State's Adrian Meronk tied for medalist honors with five under par 208s. Host NC State (846) won the team title, edging East Tennessee State (855) by nine strokes.

Senior Matt Teesdale tied Matthews for the team with a 73, and finished tied for 46th overall with a 225. Senior transfer Pat Ross was next for the Owls, tying for 54th overall with a 226. Freshmen Mark Farley (232) and Evan Thornton (236) rounded out the Temple quintet, placing 73rd and 85th respectively in the 93-player field.

The Owls return to the links this weekend when they host the Temple Invitational at Philmot County Club Saturday and Sunday.
