Baseball's Derek Peterson Named to Preseason All-Conference Second Team

PHILADELPHIA – Temple baseball's Derek Peterson was named to the Second Team of the 2014 American Preseason All-Conference Team by College Sports Madness on Sunday afternoon.
Peterson had a solid season in 2013 that earned him a spot on the All-Philadelphia Big 5 Baseball Team. He was one of two players to start all 46 games and led the Owls with 13 doubles and 82 total bases.
He was second on the team in hitting (.314) and hits (59). He also tied for the team lead in multi-hit games with 18, including three hits in a win against #24 Virginia Tech.
Peterson is one of three captains for this year's squad, and was also named to Temple's Director's Honor Roll for having a GPA between 3.0- 3.49
Temple baseball kicks off their season this Friday at North Carolina A&T at 3:00 p.m. with a weekend series.
