Men's Basketball Hosts #21 UConn on Thursday Night

- For the third of five straight games against teams ranked in the Top 25, Temple men's basketball will host #21/21 UConn on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 9:00 p.m. on ESPN2. The Owls (7-17, 2-10) are coming off a win vs. #23 SMU, while the Huskies (20-5, 8-4) recently defeated #20 Memphis in overtime.

Owl Club Auction
The Temple Owl Club -  the official support group of Temple Athletics - will host the 11th Annual Owl Club Auction on the Main Concourse at 7:30 p.m., immediately prior to Thursday's game.  A ticket to the game allows entrance to the auction. The bidding process will begin at 7:30 p.m. and winners will be announced shortly after halftime.  Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on exciting Temple Athletics experiences, memorabilia, local attractions and more.  Be sure to visit TempleOwlClub.com for a small preview of items being auctioned off.  

Headlines
• For the first time in program history, Temple is playing five straight games against teams in the Top 25. The Owls faced four in a row in 1995-96.

• Temple will be wearing pink Under Armour sneakers for the UConn game in honor of National Cancer Prevention Month.

• Temple is currently the only team in Division I to have four players averaging 14 or more points per game.

• Dalton Pepper tops the team in scoring (17.3 ppg, 4th AAC), three-pointers (2.7 pg, 1st AAC), and minutes played (37.0 mpg, 1st AAC).

• Pepper led all scorers with 24 points in the Owls' 71-64 win over #23 SMU on Feb. 16, and was a perfect 6-of-6 at the free throw line.

• Temple and AAC leading rebounder Anthony Lee sat out the SMU?game with a minor left knee injury, and his status is day-to-day.

• The Owls' top four scorers, who have accounted for 83 percent of the team's points, produced just 26 percent of last year's total points.

• Quenton DeCosey (14.8 ppg, 11th AAC) scored in double figures in the first 17 games of the season and has done so in 21 of 24 overall.

• Will Cummings is second on the team and fifth in the league with 16.2 ppg, and has scored in double figures in 20 of 22 games played.

• Temple and UConn have met eight times, most recently on Jan. 21 in Hartford, with the Huskies winning 90-66.

• UConn has won three straight in the series, with the Owls' last win being a 53-45 decision at the Palestra on Jan. 29, 1964.

• The Huskies are led by senior guard Shabazz Napier in both scoring (18.0 ppg) and rebounding (5.8 rpg).

• UConn started the season 9-0 and was ranked in both national polls until losing three of five from mid-December to early January. They have now won six of their last seven to break back into the Top 25 in both polls.

• The Huskies most recently won 86-81 vs. #20/22 Memphis in overtime.
