Fitzgerald Named to Women’s Basketball Honor Rolls

PHILADELPHIA – Temple freshman Feyonda Fitzgerald (Norfolk, Va.) was named to the American Athletic Conference and Philadelphia Big 5 women's basketball Honor Rolls on Monday.
Fitzgerald led the Owls with 23 points against USF on Feb. 22. She shot 8-of-21 from the field and perfect 7-of-7 from the line. Fitzgerald also grabbed four rebounds and dished out a game-high four assists.
A starter in all 26 games, Fitzgerald is the Owls' leading scorer with 12.4 ppg. She dishes out 4.0 apg. The only freshman to lead her team in scoring in the American, Fitzgerald is just the third Owl in school history to lead the team in scoring as true freshman.
A four-time American Freshman of the Week honoree this season, Fitzgerald earned her first Honor Roll accolade from the conference. This is her third time on the Big 5 Honor Roll this season.
The Temple Owls (12-14, 6-9 American) travel to No. 24 Rutgers (20-6, 11-4 American) on Wednesday, Feb. 26 for a 7:30 p.m. game at the RAC. The American Digital Network will broadcast the game live online.
