Fencing Moves Up to #8 in College Fencing 360 Coaches Poll

PHILADELPHIA - In the second College Fencing 360 Coaches Poll of the 2013-14 season, Temple fencing has moved up to #8 after being ranked ninth in the first poll. The Owls, coming off a 9-3 weekend at the Northwestern Duals, will head to the Duke Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 9.
While at Duke, Temple will also face Brandeis, UNC, Air Force, and MIT. Every team apart from MIT is receiving votes in the coaches poll. After Sunday, the Owls will have the following weekend off from collegiate action before hosting the Temple Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 22.
On the weekend in between, freshmen Alexandra Keft and Miranda Litzinger along with sophomore Petra Khan, will compete at the Junior Olympics in Portland, Ore.
Temple fencers have been honored with individual awards by College Fencing 360 in both weeks that awards have been given out. Freshman Rachael Clark was named to the Honor Roll in week one, while senior Chantal Montrose is the reigning National Fencer of the Week.
