Softball Opens American Athletic Conference Play at Houston This Weekend

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple softball team heads to Houston this weekend for a trio of games against the Cougars on Saturday and Sunday. The contests are the first-ever between the two teams, as well as being the first-ever American Athletic Conference games for either squad.
TU (7-11) and Houston (13-10) will play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 22, beginning at 2 p.m. EST, before playing a single game on Sunday, March 23, beginning at 1 p.m. EST.
The Cherry & White, playing for the first time since March 8, are led offensively by sophomore Kelsey Dominik and senior Sarah Prezioso. Dominik is batting .364 with three doubles, two homeruns and 10 RBI. Prezioso is hitting .362 and has collected two doubles, three triples, three homers and nine RBI. Prezioso is also 7-for-8 in stolen bases and needs just two to become Temple's all-time career leader.
Dominik pulls double-duty for TU, also serving as the team's ace on the mound with a 4-4 record and 1.95 ERA.
