Prezioso Leads Softball to 4-0 Win Over Sacred Heart

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Senior shortstop Sarah Prezioso was 2-for-2 with a triple and a homerun, leading her Temple squad to a 4-0 victory over Sacred Heart at the Rebel Spring Games on Wednesday, March 5. Sophomore Kelsey Dominik was also stellar on the mound, tossing a complete-game two-hitter.
The win is the third straight for the Owls.
After Dominik sat the Pioneers down in order in the top of the first, Prezioso immediately made her presence known with a triple to right field as the leadoff batter in the bottom of the frame. Freshman Toni Santos followed with a single to shortstop, driving in Prezioso for the 1-0 lead.
The Cherry & White struck again in the second, this time with three runs on three hits. With two outs and a runner on, sophomore Annie Marcopolus tripled to right centerfield to plate a run. Prezioso followed with a homer over the right field fence to make it a 4-0 game.
Dominik (3-3) took care of the rest, surrendering just the two hits, walking one and striking out four in seven innings of work.
Temple (5-8) is back in action later today with a 2 p.m. game against Niagara.
