YPSILANTI, Mich. – Freshman Briana Odom won the all-around at the Eagle Invitational as Temple women's gymnastics placed fourth in the invitational at Bowen Field House on Saturday night with a score of 191.575. Northern Illinois placed first with a score of 195.1, and Eastern Michigan (194.9) finished second and Air Force (193.9) third.
Temple started the invitational on the floor, earning a team score of 47.875. Jasmine Johnson had the top score of 9.7 to lead the Owls. Temple then went to the vault. Brittanie DeMeno lead the Owls to a vault score of 48.15 with a routine that earned her a 9.75.
The Owls third event was the bars (47.6). Victoria Reggiani had a 9.65 while Reagan Oliveri had a 9.6. The Owls finished the invitational on the beam. Three Owls finished above a 9.6 to help Temple earn a beam score of 47.95. Sylvie Borschel had the top score for Temple with a 9.775.
Briana Odom and Oliveri were two of three gymnasts that did all four events for the all-around. Odom finished first with a score of 38.25 while Oliveri was second with 37.975.
Temple will face an ECAC opponent in William and Mary next Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
