Lacrosse Heads to Rutgers on Friday for Final BIG EAST Regular Season Game

PHILADELPHIA - One spot remains up for grabs in next week's BIG EAST Lacrosse Tournament, and Temple is one of three teams still vying for that berth. The Owls would clinch that berth with a win in their final regular-season game at Rutgers, set for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25. Fans can watch live and for free through the link above.
Louisville, currently ranked 18th in the IWLCA Poll, has clinched the #1 seed while Georgetown has clinched the #2 seed. Connecticut is guaranteed either the #3 or #4 seed, and the remaining slot will go to Villanova, Rutgers or Temple. The Owls control their own fate but will not earn a berth if they lose, and Villanova will only earn a berth if the Owls are unsuccessful at Rutgers.
Temple has an overall record of 6-9, and is tied for fourth in the BIG EAST at 3-3. Rutgers is 8-8 overall and currently 2-4 in conference play. All-time, Temple owns a 13-5 lead in the series against the Scarlet Knights, including an 8-7 win at home last season.

• After starting the season 3-7, the Owls have since won three of their last five.
• Senior Jaymie Tabor leads the team with 31 goals, and her 2.38 goals per game rank fourth overall in the BIG EAST.
• Sophomore Nicole Tiernan is second on the team with 27 goals, but has scored a team-best 16 of those in conference games...She ranks fourth in the BIG EAST for conference games only with 2.67 goals per game.
• Sophomore Maddie McTigue leads the team with 41 draw controls which ranks fourth in the BIG EAST (2.73 draws per game) and also ranks her 10th all-time in a single season at Temple.
• Tabor earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors on March 4 after tying her career-high with six goals in the Owls' 10-8 win vs. Oregon.
• Redshirt sophomore Jaqi Kakalecik has started the last nine games in goal...She made a career-high 10 saves in Temple's 12-10 BIG EAST win vs. Villanova on April 5.
• Freshman Morgan Glassford has two game-winning goals in conference play to tie for second in the BIG EAST...She leads all Temple freshmen with 10 goals, and is the team leader overall with six assists.
• The Owls' roster features two sets of identical twins in sophomores Nicole and Megan Tiernan along with Avery and Kari Longstaff.
