Fencing's Tiki Kastor Named Under Armour OwlSports.com Athlete of the Month

PHILADELPHIA - After a number of outstanding performances in March, Temple fencing's Tiki Kastor has been named the Under Armour OwlSports.com Athlete of the Month. She is the second fencer in a row to earn the honor, after teammate Chantal Montrose was named Athlete of the Month for February.

Kastor, a junior, capped off an impressive month with a seventh-place finish in sabre at the 2014 NCAA Fencing Championships. She won 15 of her 23 bouts, including six of her final seven, and earned All-America Second Team honors while helping lead Temple to an eighth-place finish at the national meet.

Two weeks earlier at the NCAA Regionals, Kastor placed eighth to help earn her spot at nationals. Early in the month, she won her first-ever NIWFA Conference title in sabre to help the Owls sweep all of the individual titles as well as all of the team titles.
