CAMDEN, N.J. – No. 5 Louisville edged Temple baseball 6-4 in 11 innings at Campbell's Field on Sunday afternoon to take the conference series. Louisville improves to 40-12, 16-5 while Temple drops to 13-29, 8-13.
The Cardinals scored two unearned runs in the 11th inning to win the game. The game-winning run came on a throwing error on a stolen base to third that allowed the base runner to jog in home safely.
Louisville opened the game with a run in the first inning and added another run in the third and fourth off starter Ryan Kuehn. Kuehn pitched five innings, giving up six hits and three walks with two strikeouts.
Temple took a lead momentarily in the third inning off a three run homer to right field by Michael D'Acunti. D'Acunti's homer was the first of any Temple players at Campbell's Field. Robert Amaro was hit by a pitch to start the inning, and Kerrigan then singled through the left side.
The Owls took a 4-3 lead in the fifth inning. With the bases loaded Jimmy Kerrigan beat out a potential ending groundout double play at first base that allowed Bobby Heitzman to score.

D'Acunti led Temple at the plate with two hits in five at-bats.
Temple will host No. 13 Houston next weekend for the final three games of the regular season. The series starts on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Campbell's Park.
