Baseball Player Derek Peterson Named to American Athletic Conference Second Team

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Temple baseball player Derek Peterson was named to the American Athletic Conference Second Team tonight at Bright House Field. Peterson was the third base selection of the second team, a position he has played for more than half the season.
Peterson has had a successful season at the plate in his senior year. Starting all 44 games this season, he leads the Owls in runs (31), doubles (23), walks (23) and slugging percentage (.462). His 23 doubles leads the conference and places him six nationally in the category. He is also tied for the Temple single season doubles record set by Steve Nikorak in 2011. He is also hitting .278 on the season with two home runs, a triple and 21 RBI.
