Pickett and Kellar Earn Top-Five Finishes on Final Day of American Championships

TAMPA, Fla. - Gabe Pickett and Will Kellar placed fourth and fifth in their respective events to earn points and highlight the final day of competition for Temple men's track & field at the American Athletic Conference Championships.
Pickett placed fourth in the triple jump with a season-best mark of 15.16 meters. His best mark was on his last of six attempts, and he earned five team points for the Owls.
Kellar placed fifth in the finals of the 800 meter run with a time of 1:52.69 to earn four team points.
Both the Owls' 4x100 meter relay and 4x800 meter relay teams took seventh place. The times were season bests in both events. Jamal Williams, Alimamy Kallay, Elijah Hargrove and Adam Hasan ran a season-best time of 42.07 in the 4x100 meter relay, while Kallay, Pickett and Williams teamed up with Dylan Pensyl for a season-best time of 3:21.37 in the 4x400 meter relay.
The Owls earned 26 points overall and placed 10th in the team standings.
Temple will be back in action at the IC4A Championships May 16-18 at Princeton University.
