PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's soccer travels to Bronx, N.Y. to face Fordham in a non-conference match on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. The Owls will look for their third straight victory over the Rams who used to face Temple annually in the A-10.

- Temple is 1-3-1 to open the 2014 season. The Owls have lost two of their past three games on the road to No. 16 Penn State 1-0 and Duke 3-1.
- Midfielder Miguel Polley was named Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week on Monday. With the Owls trailing La Salle 2-0 at halftime, Polley started the comeback with his first collegiate goal in the 48th minute.
- Junior midfielder/forward Jared Martinelli was selected to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll. Martinelli finished the comeback when he scored his first goal of the season with six minutes left in regulation to tie the game.
- Sophomore defender Robert Sagel, senior goalkeeper Dan Scheck and Martinelli were selected to the Preseason All-American Athletic Conference Team. Scheck was voted by the coaches as the Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.
- Three freshmen have started all five games for Temple: forward Olli Tynkkynen, midfielder Felipe Liborio and midfielder Brendon Creed.
- Temple was predicted to finish fifth in the conference by the preseason coaches' poll.
- Scheck is currently the career leader in goals allowed average (0.72) and ranks tied for fourth in career wins (15).
- Fordham comes into the game with a 2-2-1 record. The Rams opened their season with two losses at Boston (1-0 OT) and Boston College (0-2). They won two games at home afterwards to Lafayette (2-1) and Manhattan (3-1) and then played to a 2-2 tie at NJIT.
- Fordham was picked to finish eighth in the A-10. The Rams return seven starters and seven other letterwinners from last season's squad that went 5-11-1, 2-5-1.
- Defender Andrew Hickey was selected to the A-10 All-Rookie Team last year. Thomas Penfold has made an immediate impact with four goals and one assist in his first season after transferring from Monmouth.
- Temple leads the all-time series 9-4-4. The Owls won the last game 1-0 last year on September 25th when sophomore defender Matt Mahoney scored his first career goal in the second half.
- The Owls end their four game road trip at Fordham. They will return home on Sept. 21 for a Philadelphia Soccer Six match against Penn. The road trip began at No. 16 Penn State on September 5th.
- Temple is coming off 10-4-4, 3-1-4 season where they finished fourth in the conference and were named the Philadelphia Soccer Six Champions.
- Sagel and Martinelli were selected to the 2013 all-conference second teams. Sagel was put on the all-freshmen team.
