QUECHEE, VT - Junior Brandon Matthews shot a two-under in the final round of The Quechee Club Invitational Sunday to finish in seventh place overall with an even-par 144 to lead the Temple Men's Golf team to a fourth place finish at the event held at the Quechee  Golf Club.
Matthews recorded one of only five sub-par rounds on Sunday. Â Penn's Austin Powell, who carded a three-under on the day, won the two-day tournament with a four-under 140.
Harvard won the team title, tallying a two-under 574 to best host Hartford (582) by eight strokes. Â UConn placed third with a 594, one shot better than Temple (595). Â Princeton finished fifth with a 597 and was followed by Penn (599), Dartmouth B (600), Cornell (601), Dartmouth (610), Brown (626) and Fordham (635).
Senior Pat Ross was one-over on the day, and three-over for the tournament to tie for 14th. Â Senior Matt Teesdale, who carded an even-par 72 to tie for seventh overall after day one, struggled Sunday in shooting a seven-over to tie for 28th.
Freshman Evan Thornton (+9, t38th) and junior Liam Fahey (+14, t48th) rounded out the TU quintet.Â
Temple next competes at the Wolfpack Invitational on October 6-7.Â
