Owl Volleyball Signs Dana Westfield to NLI

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple volleyball has announced the signing of Dana Westfield to a national letter of intent. She will play for the Owls starting with the 2016 season. 

"Dana is a great recruit with a lot of potential and we're very happy she's decided to sign with us.," said Head Coach Bakeer Ganesharatnam. "She's a tremendous student and a tremendous person, with a lot of great qualities. We're very excited to get the opportunity to start working with her next summer."

Westfield is a 6-0 outside hitter from Champaign, Ill. A four-year letter winner for Champaign Central High School, Westfield is already a two-time first team All-Area selection. She was a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 team as a junior and also earned honorable mention as a sophomore. As a club player, she is a two-time All-Region selection and led her team to berths in the USAV National Tournament three years in a row.

Temple volleyball is nearing the end of the 2015 season. The Owls 20-8 overall and sit in second place in The American with an 11-5 mark. Temple has three matches this week, beginning with a 5:00 p.m. clash against UConn tonight at 5:00 p.m.
