Men's Crew Notches Eight First-Place Finishes in Fall Finale

MERCER, N.J. -- The Temple men's crew team close out the fall racing season with eight first place finishes at the Bill Braxton Memorial Regatta on Sunday. The event was held on Lake Mercer.
Temple took first in both varsity eight flights, the lightweight eight flight, two varsity four flights, both novice four flights, and one of the novice eight flights. No Temple boat finished lower than third, as the Owls also grabbed second in the novice B flight and third in the varsity four flight.
Temple's varsity eight boats both finished at the top of the field. The "A" boat clocked in at 6:02.00 to win its flight, while the "B" boat also won its flight, finishing in 6:15.40. The lightweight eight also came away victorious, as the Owls finished first in 6:18.28.
In the other varsity races, Temple won two out of three of the varsity four races. Temple's "A" boat won its flight in 6:50.35, while the "B" boat was victorious in 6:55.19. The Owl "C" boat also had a strong race, ranking third in their flight in 7:15.62.
The Owls won three out of four freshman/novice races the team entered. In fours racing, Temple's "A" boat won its flight in 7:04.76, while the "B" boat also won, clocking in at 7:08.90. In eights racing, the Owl "A" boat was first in 6:45.62, while the "B" boat was second in 6:46.22.
The Owls will resume their season in the spring of 2016.
