Sydlik Earns Spot on American Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Temple senior Sandra Sydlik was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the period ending November 8.Â
Sydlik ran offense for the top hitting team in the conference, averaging 11.5 assists per set, leading the Owls to a 1-1 week. Temple dropped a 3-1 contest on the road at Tulane on Friday, with Sydlik tallying a double-double with 45 assists and 19 digs. Her 23rd assist of the match was also the 3,000th of her career. On Sunday, the setter dished out 36 assists in a 3-0 sweep, also adding six digs. For the week, Sydlik averaged a double-double of 40.5 assists and 12.5 digs per match.Â
?Sydlik is just the sixth player in Temple history to reach the 3,000-assists milestone, and she now owns two of the top-three single season assist marks for the Owls.Â
Temple returns to action on Friday at home, hosting UCF at 6:00 p.m. The Owls are hosting a White Out night and students in attendance will receive free t-shirts. Fans are encouraged to wear white.Â
